Trị liệu máy hồng ngoại là một phương pháp ánh sáng trị liệu, thực hiện vật lý trị liệu bằng cách dựa trên tác dụng nhiệt của tia hồng ngoại để: làm mạch máu giãn ra, tăng cường lưu thông máu, giảm đau, mềm cơ, tăng cường chuyển hóa và chống viêm mãn tính.
Tổng quát về đèn hồng ngoại
Tia hồng ngoại là bức xạ điện từ có bước sóng 700nm – 1400nm, dài hơn ánh sáng nhìn thấy, vì vậy, chúng ta không nhìn thấy được tia hồng ngoại.
Đèn hồng ngoại phát ra tia hồng ngoại và thường phát kèm theo ánh sáng đỏ để người sử dụng dễ quan sát được phạm vi tác dụng của tia hồng ngoại.
Tùy loại đèn mà công xuất phát khác nhau, thông thường, các loại bóng đèn hồng ngoại sử dụng trong điều trị bệnh có công suất 250W.
Tác dụng của đèn hồng ngoại
Đèn hồng ngoại trên thị trường có 2 loại:
Phát quang: tạo ra các tia hồng ngoại có bước sóng ngắn,
Không phát quang: tạo ra các tia có bước sóng dài hơn.
Các tia hồng ngoại có bước sóng ngắn sẽ xâm nhập mô sâu hơn các tia có bước sóng dài. Các tia hồng ngoại khi được hấp thụ qua mô cơ thể sẽ sinh ra nhiệt. Chính nhờ hiệu ứng nhiệt này giúp cho đèn hồng ngoại có một số tác dụng sau: giúp giãn mạch tại vùng chiếu tia, làm tăng lượng máu mang oxi và dinh dưỡng đến vùng giãn mạch, tăng chuyển hóa mô tại chỗ và tăng tiết mồ hôi, giảm phù nề. Bên cạnh đó, nếu chiếu tia hồng ngoại có cường độ thấp (nóng nhẹ) sẽ giúp làm xoa dịu các đầu thụ cảm thần kinh có tác dụng giảm đau. Ngoài ra, tác dụng giảm đau này còn do bởi hiệu quả thư giản cơ tại vùng chiếu do sự tăng nhiệt độ tại chỗ.
Chính nhờ các công dụng trên mà đèn hồng ngoại thường được sử dụng như là điều trị hỗ trợ cho các trường hợp: đau lưng cơ năng, đau khớp mạn, đau do co cơ vai, gáy; các nhiễm trùng ngoài da, vết thương nông; các trường hợp viêm, phù do ứ trệ tuần hoàn; dùng trước tập vận động giúp cải thiện tầm vận động khớp ở bệnh nhân cứng khớp; các trường hợp bong gân đã qua giai đoạn cấp…
Phương pháp trị liệu máy hồng ngoại
Tư thế bệnh nhân có thể ngồi hoặc nằm thật thoải mái, bộc lộ rõ vùng da chiếu tia, che mắt bằng gạc ẩm nếu chiếu ở vùng mặt, uống đủ nước trước khi chiếu tia.
Tia chiếu vuông góc với mặt da, nhưng đèn chiếu nên đặt ngang hay chéo để tránh bị rơi đèn lên cơ thể gây bỏng.
Khoảng cách từ đèn chiếu đến bề mặt da trung bình là 50-60cm.
Tùy vào mục tiêu điều trị và loại bệnh lý mà thời gian chiếu tia, cường độ và số lần chiếu khác nhau.
Thông thường khi bắt đầu điều trị nên chọn tia chiếu cường độ thấp trong khoảng 5-10 phút rồi tăng cường độ lên dần, thời gian trung bình 15-20 phút/lần, mỗi ngày hay 2 ngày 1 lần. Trong khi chiếu tia, da vùng chiếu có cảm giám nóng nhẹ, dễ chịu. Nếu trong khi chiếu mà da vùng chiếu nóng rát, đổ mồ hôi nhiều thì phải giảm cường độ. Sau khi chiếu, da vùng chiếu có màu hồng, hay đỏ nhạt là đạt yêu cầu.
